Character Building at JPS
“When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when Character is lost, all is lost” – Billy Graham
As a tree stands tall and strong due to its roots similarly a person efficiently faces all kinds of situation if he is a man of character with a strong root of moral values. Moral values play an important role in shaping the character of an individual. That’s why they should be taught right from childhood. As it is believed that learning’s in childhood stay with the children throughout their lives, JPS leaves no stone unturned to teach good values to the students. The students are trained to become punctual, sincere, honest, modest, kind and considerate. They get disciplined and sensible. Everyday in the morning assembly they congregate and sing prayers. They discuss thought of day, popular sayings and even the meanings of Sanskrit slokas. The assembly ends with the singing of the national anthem. This creates a feeling of patriotism also. Always there is an attempt to make the children understand what’s right and what’s wrong. Students are always encouraged to stick to the ethical values so that in future they will be accepted and respected by society.
